Determine the coordinates of the end point B(2, 2) of the line joining A(-5, -7) and B(x,y) if the coordinates of the mid-point C(x,y) are x = -9 and y=-12

Did you copy the problem exactly as given to you? It seems wrong; the coordinates of the point B(2,2) are (2,2)! And (x,y) is used of two different points, B and C.

I'm guessing the problem is meant to be something like this:

Determine the coordinates of the end point B(x, y) of the line joining A(-5, -7) and B if the coordinates of the mid-point C are (-9,-12).​

I don't know where (2, 2) came from.

Do you know the midpoint formula? Or vectors?
