Weighted by cosine index

Hello my friends! Here I am at almost midnight working on some aspects I need to understand for a project.

"The cosine index cosine index.JPG is a correlation coefficient to measure the similarity between two technological fields in terms of their mutual relationships with all other fields (it is symmetric) The index is greater (can be larger than one) the more related are technologies i and j and tends to zero when they are not at all."

The author then uses this index in the following way: "the variable X was constructed using the parameter R weighted by the cosine index."

Then he does not show anything and moves on.

You are smarter than me. Could you please give me an explanation and a mathematical expression of this variable X?

Thank you very math! I mean much!

There are very few results on Google for "cosine index" (with the quote-marks), but doing a search for "weighted by the cosine index" (without the quote-marks) returns many results for something called "cosine measure". Maybe the author is referring to that...?

(dot product) a.b = |a|*|b|*cosO
cosO = a.b / (|a|*|b|)
cosine index may be from here.

Asking what

Wondering if you are requiring more knowledge about the cosine index itself, or how to, and the meaning of, a variable x constructed as a function of a parameter and a weighted variable, that is, given R and sjk how to write x?

Thank you everyone for your answers.

It would be how to write X!
