I choose a card at random from a well- shuffled deck of 52 cards. There is a 1/4 probability that the card chosen is a spade, a 1/4 prob, that the card chosen is a heart, a1/4 prob that card chosen is a diamond, and a 1/4 prob. that card chosen is a club. Both spaded and clubs are black cards while hearts and diamonds are red.

a. what is the prob. that the card chosen is black?
b. what is the prob. that the card chosen is not a spade

Have you not made any attempt to do this yourself? How many black cards are there in the deck? How many cards are NOT spades?
