Try multiplying by a constant number and adding another constant number.
However, with three numbers only thing you can do to be exactly correct on the given points is to fit a quadratic curve (I know - I am most probably talking over your head).
The exact function would be:
y = (11/3) * x^2 + 11 * x - 38/3
This curve will go through (1,2), (2,24) and (4,90).
Then you would have (3, 160/3) and (5,134)
Neither simple nor a pretty situation........

The post above was based on my mis-reading the problem.
The actual problem is to find a curve that pass through (1,2), (2,24) and (5,90)
In that case, the curve is: y = 22 * x - 20
