What number is 1.94/times 10^6?
1.49 / 10^6

1.49/ 1000000
=0.00000194
but this is not the correct answer,
what am I doing wrong here?

[imath]\dfrac{1.49}{1000000}=(149\cdot 10^{-2})\cdot 10^{-6}=149\cdot 10^{-8}=0.00000149[/imath]

You're right. My mistake. It is 1.94 not 1.49

There should have been a misprint then. That's what confused me.

We can't be sure it's a misprint without seeing an image of the actual problem!

My guess, without seeing it, is that someone could have used the wrong slash in LaTeX, and got [imath]1.94/times 10^6[/imath] when they meant [imath]1.94\times 10^6[/imath]. I've done that ...
