can someone plz tell me which lesson i can revise to be able to solve this question?

4. The profit \(\displaystyle \, \pi\, \) is described by the following function:

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \pi\, =\, (100\, -\, 4q)q\, -\, q^2\)

where q is the output. Find the output q at which the profit is maximized, and find the corresponding profit \(\displaystyle \, \pi\)

any hints and tips would be welcome, thank yooouuu *.*

What topic was covered in the section in your textbook that generated this exercise? What did your instructor cover in class? What class are you taking? For instance, did the book just cover finding the vertex of a quadratic by completing the square? Or did your instruction just teach how to find max/min points with the derivative?

Before we can suggest what topic(s) you might want to review, you'll need to tell us where you are in your studies. It will also help if we can see what you've tried, so we know where you're having trouble. Thank you!

actually i'm not taking any classes, and i'm just revising lessons here and there as i have to pass an exam for a scholarship, they generally put questions about basic knowledge in maths, and that question was found in one of the previous tests, and it keeps reappearing in every one of them, since i stoped practicing math 7 years ago you can say i forgot most of what i learnt :p

i really appreciate your help ^_^

this is the answer i found for this question and i guess they derive the equation to get the result, but i still can't figure which part of which lesson i should refer to :(
