Wolfram missing part of input

Why is Wolfram Alpha dropping part of my input equation? If there is a length limit, I would expect an error message, but it proceeds to solve the latter portion of the equation with no error indication.

I really have a love-hate relationship with WolframAlpha. It's an amazingly useful computational tool and I use it frequently... but man it sure is a butthead sometimes when it comes to getting it to recognize your question. In your case, you can get it to stop erroring out by using multiplication symbols to explicitly indicate every multiplication. Link to the result.

When you multiply two things in Mathematica (or W|A) you can write it two ways:
1) As kdshart2 showed you can write x*y.
2) Put a space between the two: x y

I don't think it knows what to do with something like 2y.
