Kevin's paycheck is for $x and y cents. When he cashes it the cashier accidentally gives him $y and x cents. As a result John (who was not paying attention at all) has lost $95.04. How much was John’s original check for? Find all possible solutions.

I don't understand how to start this problem to come up with a solution, could someone please help me start it

You went from "Kevin" to "John." Which name is it supposed to be?
