The area of a flag can be represented by the polynomial x(squared)+3x+2 and it's width by x+1.
a)write a rational expression that represents the length
b)write the expression in simplest form
c)If x represents 1 unit of length, what is the ratio length:width for a flag?
Please help! I need the answer tonight! :?

a) If (area) is (length) times (width), and you're given (area) and (width), how do you find (length)?

b) Factor the result from(a), and simplify.

c) Plug in "1" for "x". Find the values for the width and the length. Then form the ratio of the two values.

d) Please post any further algebra questions to one of the "algebra" categories. Thank you.

Eliz.
