I would like to know how to set this problem up as an algebric equation!

Find the orginal price of a pair of shoes if the sale price is $78 after a 25% discount.

x is the original price.
The discount is .25x
The sale price is x-.25x = .75x
.75x=78

.75x is the sale price.
78 is the sale price.They are equal 'cause they are the same thing.
