Roberto Heras is riding in the Vuelta a Espana. He is using a 210 mm-diameter chainring and a 50mm-diameter sprocket with a 700 mm-diameter rear wheel. Find his linear velocity if he is pedaling at a rate of 75 revolutions per minute. Give your answer in km per hr to the nearest tenth.

Can you walk me through this step by step please?

You know the angular speed of the chainring (pedal).

Calculate the angular speed of the sprocket.

That is the angular speed of the rear wheel also.

Then calculate linear velocity of the wheel (center).
