The vertical displacement y (in cm) of the end of an industrial robot arm for each cycle is y = 5t^1.8 - cot 0.3t, where t is the time (in s). Find the vertical velocity for t=20s where theta is in radians.
I know we have to take the derivative of y so I have this:
y' = 5 (1.8 t^0.8)-(-csc^2 0.3t (0.3))
y' = 9t^0.8 + 0.3 csc^2 0.3t
I know that t=20 but how can I solve for csc^2 from here????
Please help...
 


y` is the velocity.

I mean, they want the value of y` when t = 20.

What do you mean: "solve for csc()^2" ?

You can evaluate csc(0.3*20)^2, using a scientific calculator, if that's what you mean.
