Click to expand... It's a quadratic equation. I suggest multiplying both sides by 3 and rearranging: 2tanx - 3tan^2x = 3 0 = 3tan^2x - 2tanx + 3 Now apply the quadratic formula. (Hint: You may have trouble finding real solutions.)
