A square meter is the area of a square that is 1 meter long and 1 meter wide. 1 m^2 = 1 m * 1 m

Remember that 1 meter = 100 cm. So, 1 m^2 = 1 m * 1 m = 100 cm * 100 cm = 10000 cm^2

1 m^2 = 10,000 cm^2

To convert a number of square meters into square centimeters, multiply the number of square meters by 10000 cm^2.

Example:

Convert 12 m^2 to cm^2
12 m^2 = 12 * (10000 cm^2)
12 m^2 = 120000 cm^2
