I received a question on a quiz and the teacher never explained it

the question went like this

a positive integer is 37 more than 27 times another. their product is 11540. find the two integers

I need help solving it?

Well, you have two unknowns (the integers) therefore you need at least two equations to solve.

Let x = one positive integer
Let y = the other positive integer
