I have this modified ergun equation that I was asked to solve and I have no idea where to begin. Is there anyone out there who can help walk me through it?

If somebody could break that down into a cubic equation I would be most grateful!

expand (1-e)2 and use distributive law (things will look less nasty if you redefine the constants suitably)

collect terms with equivalent powers of 'e'

you got your cubic equation!

Where are you stuck? show some work! Or are you waiting for us to do the "nasty" arithmetic/algebra??

I just have no idea where to start. I was told to use cardanos equation, but I don't know how. I need to be walked through very slowly, step by step

If you need to learn Cardano's method for solving cubic-equation - you would need to take a math class for that. I cannot teach that through e-mails.

Google Cardano's method - and you'll find sites that explains it.
