I have been working on this for hours and cannot get the answer from the text some help would be awesome...

Differentiate the following expression with respect to x (where x and y are related)

Looks like a straightforward application of
1) the "sum rule": (u+ v)'= u'+ v'
2) the "product rule": (uv)'= u'v+ uv'
3) the "chain rule": (f(y))'= (df/dy)y'
4) the fact that (x^n)'= nx^n-1
