I've watched about 1,000 videos (number an estimate) and I can't figure this out. I can find the estimate, using Riemman summation, how do I find the exact area? Any help?

Did you perform the "anti-derivative" action - i.e. integration and applied limits - to these functions?

I thought I was not supposed to integrate it b/c that would only give me the estimate (?)

I tried 3- (-1) / n or 4/n then plugged it in for the X's (as I saw in a video). But I got lost at about 10 minutes of that video.

Why would you think the anti-derivative would give only an estimate of the volume?
