Determine whether or not the following limit exists. If, so compute the limit.
I tried factoring and got (x+1)(x-1) / (x+1)
Cancelling like terms gave me (x-1)
I don't know what to do from there...

But each is actually a question from an calculus course.
If you are not taking calculus, then of course you don't know how to do these.
Are you in calculus?
