They do wear them while dancing! A bolero is a jacket worn by male bolero dancers; that is, it is a "lively-dance" jacket. If they didn't name these jackets boleros because they started out as dance jackets, then I don't understand why they're called boleros!"Lively dance jacket" (as far as I can tell) is not an &lit, but would be if the "jacket" was worn while dancing lively
