Hello friends, I have the equation

y = x2 - 2xm + z

However, I’m having trouble isolating x. I need to rearrange so it’s in the form x = ???. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You need to post the complete problem. Is the problem asking you to "invert" the given function y(x)?

Please post the problem exactly as it was presented to you.

You want to solve for x, treating y, m, and z as constants. This is a quadratic equation in x, so you'll have to either complete the square or use the quadratic formula.

Give that a try.
