A store I go to offers a chance to win ten dollars if you win a game involving five dice. In the beginning, you can roll the dice five times only. You win if all five are the same in the end. Whenever you get two or more of the same, you set them aside and continue to roll the remaining dice hoping to get the same as the ones you set aside. Every time you get a pair, you also get another roll. When you are down to the last two remaining, and have three set aside all the same, the one face is a wildcard so you can get either two that are the same as the three you set aside, or just one that is the same and a one. What are the odds of winning this game?

Can we see your work?

This isn't anything for school. Perhaps I chose the wrong forum? I was just curious, and told the woman who works there I would find out the probability.

I have some problem with what you wrote.
win ten dollars if you win a game involving five dice--so the game involves 5 dice.
In the beginning, you can roll the dice five times only--are you rolling the set of 5 dice five times (for a total of 25 rolls) OR are you rolling a die five times?

First cut at a sim is showing win probability of 0.085%

This seems a bit low so I'm reviewing it but it look like it's working.
