2/19=1/x+1/y (x does not = y)

My very first idea is to ask you to demonstrate what you have tried. How many solutions are you expecting? Are there any other important restrictions?

Any ideas? 2/19=1/x+1/y (x does not = y)
What do you mean: any idea? There is nothing there: is there??
We can say that if \(x\cdot y\ne 0\) then that can be simplified to \(2xy=19y+19x~.\)
But so what? Look at the plot HERE
So what is your question? How can we help you?

Any ideas?

Possibly you are looking for solutions where x and y are integers. Or maybe they have to be positive integers? If so, then you haven't stated the entire problem.

But if you do want such a Diophantine solution, then what pka said is a first step. (Ignore the graph, and focus on the equation. Or ask WolframAlpha the right question ...)
