1. How many cubic yards of concrete are needed to pour a concrete slab 24 feet long, 14 feet wide, and 8 inches thick?
2. How many cubic feet of concrete are needed to pour 4 cylindrical pillars 6 feet high with a diameter of 10 inches?
(pi) (r^2) (h)
3.14 X 25 X 6=471
471 X 4=1884 cu ft
I got 1884 cu ft

You cannot "mix" your units. You used both feet and inches in your calculation. You need to convert 10 inches into feet first, then run your calculation.

The same applies for problem 1. If you want, you can convert the 8 inches into feet and calculate the number of cubic feet. Then you would have to convert that answer into cubic yards.
