Can anyone help me with this inequality problem?

4 minus the sum of h and 8 is less than -7

h (< or >) _______

Help! I've tried and tried

Did you write out the entire equation?

4 - (h+8) < -7

Add 7

11 - (h+8) < 0

Add h+8

11 < h+8

Subtract 8

3 < h

That's just one way. Other steps could be taken. Some may simplfy it, others may complicate it. Just be careful and follow the rules.

Usually, the tutors won't do the exercise for you. So, in the future, when you've "tried and tried", it would be very helpful if you showed what you've tried, so the tutors can "see" where you're stuck and can help you learn.

Thank you! :D
