They will meet at the lowest common multiple of 3 and 4 days..................What are your thoughts?

Hello, arv9876!

If you're looking in books for a "Two Tennis Players Formula", good luck!
You are expected to use your Common Sense in 99% of math problems.

Fred attends tennis lessons every 3 days.
Paul attends tennis lessons every 4 days.
If both of them started their lessons on the same Sunday,
which day of the week will they meet again for their tennis lessons?

Answer is Friday on the answer sheet, but I have no idea how to get it. . Really?

Take a page from any calendar.

Write "F" on any Sunday.
Then write "F" on every third day thereafter.

Write "P" on the same Sunday.
Then write "P" on every fourth day thereafter.

It will look like this:

. . \(\displaystyle \begin{array}{|c|c|c|c|c|c|c|} \hline \text{Sun} & \text{Mon} & \text{Tue} & \text{Wed} & \text{Thu} & \text{Fri} & \text{Sat} \\ \hline F&-&-&F&-&-&F \\ P &-&-&-&P&-&- \\ \hline -&-&F &-&-&{\color{blue}F} &- \\ -&P &-&-&-& {\color{blue}P} &- \\ \hline \end{array}\)

We can see that they both attend on a Friday.
