2nd equation: x = -2y

substitute that in 1st equation:
2(-2y) + 5y = -1
-4y + 5y = -1
y = -1

substitute in 2nd:
x + 2(-1) = 0
x - 2 = 0
x = 2

WHY were you having problems with that?
What grade are you in?
 
If you are having problems with line equations, and you are learning/have learned quadratic formula, then you need some serious review.
