These are two entirely different problems, so they should be submitted separately. To make the second readable, it is
You've shown no work, so we can't tell what help you need.
The first includes work, so I can help. Consider part (c):
You are misunderstanding the meaning of the notation. They told you that h(x) means 1/2 x - 4l h is not a variable, but the name of a function. That means that whatever value you are given inside the parentheses (called the argument of the function) is to be put in place of the x, and then the expression is evaluated. So "find h(10)" is another way of saying, "evaluate 1/2 x - 4, if x = 10". Try doing that.
You also made really similar mistakes for parts b and c! The 6 and 10 are showing you what x is supposed to be in those parts and you need to "plug in" 6 and 10 for x. Then for part D you are on the right track with saying that y=8.. yes the value of the entire function is supposed to equal 8. So keeping everything the same in the function (the 1/2x-4) just set it equal 8 and solve for x. Hope that helps!
On the second picture, it would be nice if you had tried to show some work already. Obviously you are going to have to find the volume...to make it easier I suggest converting all the numbers to centimeters before you start so that you answer is in cubic centimeters!! Then you can figure out how to convert to fluid ounces.
