okay heres the question..

a package of two 120-pg notebook sells for $2.29. A package of three 100-pg notewbook sells for $2.49.

A)What is the price per page for each package of notebooks? Which is the better buy? Why?

B)Suppose the package of two notebooks goes on sale for 20% off. Which package will be the better buy? Why?

A)-- 229/200 = cents per page
.....249/300 = cents per page

B)-- .80(249)/200 = cents per page

I bet you can take it from here.

Re: ALEGBRA HELPPPP!!!!!PLEASE

Sadly, this doesn't require algebra.

If you buy 10 apples for a total of $5, how do you find the price-per apple?

Likewise, if you have a book with n pages which is priced a p dollars, what is the price per page?

1.) Two 120 page notebooks = 2(120) = 240 pages for $2.29. Therefore, how much does it cost, per-page?
Do the same to the other package. Which is cheaper, per-page?

2.) If the price is reduced by 20%, than you are paying 80% of the price. If the price is $100, than you are paying $80. Use what you have learned about calculating percentage of prices to find which package will be a better value.

Cheers!
