Plug the two given points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) into the slope formula you've memorized:

m = [y1 - y2]/[x1 - x2]

(or maybe "m = [y2 - y2]/[x2 - x1]"; the order isn't important, as long as you subtract the x's in the same order as you subtracted the y's.)

Then pick one of the (x, y) points, and plug x, y, and m into "y = mx + b". Solve for b. Then re-write the equation with m and b.

use the 2 sets of points to find the slope or gradient

m= (y2-y1)/ (x2-x1)

m = (-4-2)/(0-3)
m = (-6) / (-3)
m = 2

Use this slope (m=2) and 1 set of points to fill out the variables in the general equation to a straight line.
Use the set of points (3,2) and m= 2
y = m x + c
2= 2x 3 + c
2= 6 + c
-4 = c

Now place the m and c values back into the general equation for a straight line.

y= m x + c

y = 2x - 4
there you go.................

thank you, i already figured it out for myself but im sure if i had read that it would be very helpful. thank you :)
