I tried completely solving this one like I was told how to do the last one but got the wrong answer.. Where did I go wrong?
1/5(5y+10)-9=-1/3(9y-15) <-- Original problem.
3(5y+10)-27=-5(9y-15) <-- For the first side I multiplied by 3 for a LCD of 15. Second side multiply by 5
15y+30-27=-45y+75 <-- I distributed 3*5, 3*10. -5*9, -5*-15.
15y +3=-45y+75 <-- Combined like terms.
+45y-3=+45y - 3 <-- Getting everything straightened out on each side.
60y =72
-- --
60 60 <-- dividing
y=1 12/60
y=1 1/5
My program(it is online math program) says 1 1/5 is wrong. Why?
