Area and Volume

1. Area of Rectangle = L * W
2. Area of Square = S * S
3. Area of Triangle = (B * H) / 2
4. Area of Circle = 3.142 * (r * r)

I would like to find out is the volume for

1. square = cube
2. rectangle = rectangle prism
3. Triangle = pyramid
4. circle = sphere

Do a google search - you'll find these expressions easily. Any prilimunary geometry book will also have these expressions.

I found out that there is no such thing as a volume for square, triangle, rectangle and circle. Is this true?

True - those are two-dimensional figures and do not have volume.

However, cubes, rectangular prisms, pyramid and spheres are 3-dimensional figures and those do posses volume.
