Also, for clarity, you will need to enclose the base and/or the exponent within grouping symbols, if either of them contain more than one factor. EGs Type \(\displaystyle x^3\) as x^3 Type \(\displaystyle x^{2a}\) as x^(2a) Type \(\displaystyle (4x)^y\) as (4x)^y
