Suppose the first term of both progressions is \(a\). Then the first 3 terms of the AP could be written:okay

\(\displaystyle a,a+d,a+2d\)

And the first 3 terms of the GP could be written as:

\(\displaystyle a,ar,ar^2\)

Based on the information given regarding the sums of the corresponding terms, can you write 3 equations in the 3 unknowns?
