Hi folks.

I'm not particularly math literate, so why I am going for a B.S is beyond me. Nevertheless, I am in calculus class, and I am having a bit of trouble.

I am trying to find t1 and t0 with coordinates [0,1] and [0,0.5]. The position function is s(t)=35sin2t. Finding [0,1] is straightforward. T0=0 and T1=31.52541. I found T1 by keying in 35sin(2)(1). On the the second set of numbers, however, I can't get the right answer. T0 is obviously 0, but I am getting 15.91270 for T1 by keying in 35sin(2)(0.5). This is wrong, apparently. MyMathLab is telling me the correct answer is 29.45148. How can this be? I am using a TI-83 Plus, btw.

Thanks!

There's a difference between \(\displaystyle 35\sin(2)\cdot 0.5=17.5\sin(2)=15.91..\)

and

\(\displaystyle 35\sin(2(.5))=29.45....\)

One is \(\displaystyle 35\sin(2t)\) and the other \(\displaystyle 35t\sin(2)\)
