I also got an answer of 42.50
On second thought, why do you think [imath]\mu =a?[/imath]View attachment 31840
My steps, maybe the answer given is wrong.
Because my hypothetical mean, HM is 42 which is a constant. So, Expected of hypothetical mean = Variance of hypothetical mean = 42.On second thought, why do you think [imath]\mu =a?[/imath]
[imath]\mu=E[E(X|\theta)][/imath] and [imath]a=Var[E(X|\theta)][/imath]
Are you saying the Variance of a constant is the constant?Because my hypothetical mean, HM is 42 which is a constant. So, Expected of hypothetical mean = Variance of hypothetical mean = 42.
Yeah, but variance of a constant should be 0. However, if a = 0, k = v/a, then k = infinity. Z = 1/(1+k) = 0. Then the answer is 42...Are you saying the Variance of a constant is the constant?
