I don't know how to solve number 9, I keep substituting for sine squared theta but I don't know how to reach the answer I know that they gave me the bisection part for a reason but I can't figure it out

You didn't show any work. Please read the forum guidelines...

HINT: Have a strategy in mind. You could calculate BC by Pythagoras if you knew AC and AB.

You may want to look for similar triangles, and in particular for another angle equal to theta.
 
HINT: Have a strategy in mind. You could calculate BC by Pythagoras if you knew AC and AB.

A better strategy is to find CD (from tri ACD) and DB (from tri ABD), and then add them.
