What were the instructions that accompanied this problem? Since there's no equals sign, I'm assuming the instructions were something like "Simplify the following expression." Assuming that's the correct instructions, my basic process would be to deal with the fraction subtraction in parentheses, FOIL out the multiplications where appropriate, and then do the arithmetic operations according to PEMDAS (or perhaps you learned BODMAS?) The real question is, what have you tried? Where are you stuck? The more specific you can be about what's giving you trouble, the better help we can provide. Thank you.

You have \(\displaystyle 18(a- 2)- 6(-a- 4)+ 4(\frac{a}{2}- \frac{1}{4})- \frac{8a- 4}{2}+ 4*5a- 2a- 3a+ \frac{3}{4}(8a+ 4)- 35,5\)

(I assume that your "35,5" is what I would write "35.5".)

Do you know the "distributive law"? That says that 18(a- 2)= 18a- 36 and that -6(-a-4)= 6+ 24. Surely, you can see that \(\displaystyle \frac{8a- 4}{2}= 4a- 2\)? And that \(\displaystyle \frac{3}{4}(8a+ 4)= 3\frac{8a+ 4}{4}= 3(2a+ 1)= 6a+ 3\)? What about \(\displaystyle 4(\frac{a}{2}- \frac{1}{4})\)? Do you see that that is equal to \(\displaystyle \frac{4a}{2}- \frac{4}{4}\)? Do you know how to "reduce" that?
