So I think what I’m stuck on is what do I divide it by?

my current calculation is

105+104+102+90+83=484

Do I divide this by the amount of Collumns?
Or do I divide this by the amount of strawberry farms?

the problem wants weight per plant ... how many plants are there?

200 plants.

what I’ve done so far is

484 weight divided by 5 years
Which is 96.8

then 96.8 divided by 200 plants
Which is 0.484

I just don’t feel like I’m right or what to do next

yes, 2/5 = 0.4 and 1/2 = 0.5 (I meant for you to perform the conversion)

your calculation of the mean was 0.484

Eva’s estimate was between 0.4 and 0.5

what did the question ultimately ask for? can you answer it? have you justified your answer?

I think I have with your help!! Thank you so much!

the question was, was Eva correct

so I’ve said yes she was, as the mean weight was between 1/2 and 2/5
It also asked if she should use this mean for her next years estimate
I’ve said no, as the amount of strawberries produced became less therefor would not indicate the growth for next year
Thanks again for your help!
