in this problem you convert volume to m^3.

1 cm^3 = 10^(-6) m^3

8000 cm^3 = ? m^3

It's good that you noticed that there is a problem with units. Let's say you are shopping for something and one store shows the price for a pound of product, another for an ounce. How would you compare them?

Would you convert the ounce into pounds and see what the price is then in comparision?

Your x and y are each measured in meters, but the volume is given in terms of cubic centimeters. Convert the 8000 to cubic meters, and use that number instead. Then your units will match.
