circle need more help please

in a circle whose diameter is 20 inches, a chord is 6 inches from the center. what is the length of the chord.

i have no clue. everytime i try to figure this i don't have the right info for the formula i am using
i tried after using forum's advicd
need more help please

Did you draw a sketch of the situation and label it? If so, you will probably see a right triangle. Any time a right triangle is involved, the Pythagorean theorem may help.
