Hello all. I am struggling to understand why when i am given a conic segment with the equation 16x^2 + 4y^2=16 how it can be rearranged so that the conic is given by y^2= 16- (4-x)^2, can anyone help?

16x^2 + 4y^2 = 16

how it can be rearranged ... y^2= 16- (4-x)^2

The given equation cannot be rearranged like that.

4y^2 = 16 - 16x^2

Simplifies to

y^2 = 4 - 4x^2

I apologise my lecturer has actually made a mistake in his notes, I fed back everyones comments and he checked his answer. Thank you everybody
