Confused about the right answer (volume of sphere)

I’m not quite sure wether the answer in the book is right or wrong or im doing something wrong but apparently the below is what the answer is to the following example,it states the answer is 288 however i used that same formula and got a volume of 904.779 can someone explain which is right because I’m a bit confused.

Both the book and you are correct, but you did not heed the book's instructions. See the clarification of what "exact" means in Example 3..

If we're rounding to three decimal places, then [math]288\pi = 904.779[math][/math][/math]
 
Why would you not multiply pi and 288 to see if you get something close to 904.779?
