I need to find the value of a and b if the function has a continuity in x =2,
I tried finding it but I just can't figure out how

Here is the problem I got:

I need to find a & b if it is continuous in x = 2,

this is where I'm stuck at , I don't know what else to do

If values of 'a' and 'b' are such that

ax2 + bx - 4 is exactly divisible by (x-2)

and

f(2-) = -6

then the discontinuity of (ax2 + bx - 4)/(x - 2) at x =2 will be removed

You factored the numerator incorrectly. I would do long division to factor that numerator so that one of the factors is (x-2).
