Creating A System of Measurement

My teacher wants me to create my own system of measurement. However, she gave us no examples except the metric system. That already exists. I don't understand what she wants me to do, and she is of absolutely no help. I need 3 different things. I was thinking of calling it the MLB System of Measurement. Please help.

First decide on what are the "stuffs" that you need to measure - length, temperature - what else?
