Use a definite intergral with this cost per foot function, y=10(1.014)^x, to calcualte the total costs of a 200 foot well.

I'm a little confused... but here is what I did.

I integrated the function using: (a^x)/ lna

So I said [10(1.014^x) ]/ ln 1.014
Then I plugged in 200 for x and came up with 11600.

I'm not sure about this... any help you can offer is much appreciated!

I don't think you used the fundamental theorem of calculus correctly ...

\(\displaystyle \L \int_0^{200} 10(1.014)^x dx = \left[\frac{10(1.014)^x}{\ln{(1.014)}}\right]_0^{200} = 10881.46\)
