Im not sure if i am doing this problem correctly?

\(\displaystyle \int^{\pi/2}_0 tan x\,dx\)

Now, wouldnt i have \(\displaystyle - \ln | cos x | ]^{\pi/2}_0\)

wouldnt that just give me a zero? But, then it doesnt converge or diverge so i think i am doing it wrong?

It diverges.

\(\displaystyle \displaystyle \int_{0}^{\frac{\pi}{2}}tan(x)dx=\displaystyle \lim_{b\to (\frac{\pi}{2})^{-}}\left \left[ln|sec(x)|\right]\right|_{0}^{b}=\infty\)
