We are being asked how to determine the equation of a curve from (I presume) either a graph or table that was not shared with us.

My French is no longer good enough (if it ever was) to explain math.

There is no certain way to determine the equation of a graph from the graph itself. Given a finite number of points, there are an infinite number of possible equations that will have a graph containing those points. If you know generally what type of equation generated the graph, then, given sufficient points, there are methods to determine what the specific equation is. For example, if you know that the curve represents an unknown cubic, four points are sufficient to determine the exact cubic generating that curve. There are also methods to generate an approximating equation over a limited domain if all that is known are points on the curve.
