What is the difference between discrete Mathematics and other mathematics?

First, realize that there is absolutely no definitive description of “Discrete Mathematics”. Having said that, in general discrete mathematics is over against continuous mathematics (calculus for example). A set of points that is finite or at most countable is said to be discrete. Therefore, most Discrete Mathematics courses and textbooks concentrate on counting theory (combinatorics) and graph theory (networks and trees).
