AB has midpoint M with coordinates (0,8). If the coordinates of point A are (-4,8) what are the coordinates of point B? (,)

Hello, and welcome to FMH! :)

Let's let the coordinates of point \(B\) be \((x,y)\). Using the midpoint formula, we may then write:

[MATH]\frac{-4+x}{2}=0[/MATH]
[MATH]\frac{8+y}{2}=8[/MATH]
Can you solve these equations?

To follow up, we find:

[MATH](x,y)=(4,8)[/MATH]
Here's a diagram of the 3 points:
